Kumawood actor and comedian, Kwaku Manu, has asserted that many entertainers are venturing into politics primarily due to financial difficulties and not necessarily out of a desire to serve the public.
During an appearance on UTV's United Showbiz, Kwaku Manu expressed his belief that numerous individuals, including celebrities, are turning to politics because it offers significant financial opportunities.
He commented, "Celebrities are facing financial challenges, and this is the main reason some of us are entering politics. Currently, there are limited opportunities in the entertainment industry, and I think it's time for the government to come to our aid. Both the NPP and NDC governments have made grand promises, but we have yet to see any tangible results."

Kwaku Manu emphasized his concern that political leaders in Ghana often prioritize their own interests and those of their associates and families over the welfare of ordinary citizens. He expressed disappointment in the lack of substantial progress for the entertainment industry.
Furthermore, Kwaku Manu highlighted that the financial struggles faced by many celebrities lead them to campaign for politicians, not necessarily because they align with their political ideologies.
He also noted that he was unfamiliar with the Minister of Tourism, emphasizing that he didn't see any notable contributions to the entertainment sector from the ministry.
Kwaku Manu's comments reflect the challenges faced by some celebrities in Ghana's entertainment industry and their motivations for entering the realm of politics.
